Chicago Collar County
Community Census Analysis

The Chicago Collar County Project has analyzed census data at the community level from the 1980, 1990, and 2000 U.S. censuses. Additional information from the Illinois State Police Uniform Crime Reports for the communities have been integrated with this census information. This allows us to track changes from 1980 to 2000. Our data bases currently contain most of the census data from those years, along with crime statistics for the roughly 282 designated U.S. Census Places (incorporated communities) in the 6 county area. We are in the process of developing maps and analytical reports about these changes.

A few maps that show the racial characteristics of the 2000 population for the C3 communities are available through the links in the left panel. There are also some maps that show the relative percent increase and decrease of racial subpopulations over the 1980-2000 period.
